    Damaged.
While en-route from Andrews AFB, MD, to Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, for storage, this F-105 averted a near fatal crash. While taking off from Kirtland AFB, NM, this jet could not gain enough power to take off. The catch cable at the airbase caught the jet, preventing what could have been a bad crash. The jet was loaded onto a flatbed trailer and moved elsewhere on the base so it could be examined to determine the cause of the power failure.
