    Constructed as a P-51D-25-NA by North American at Inglewood, California, USA.

    February 1945

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 44-72989.

    March 1945

    Departed the US via Newark NJ, for assignment to Eighth AF(shipping code SOXO).

    October 1945

    Returned to the US via Newark NJ.

    By 1954

    Transferred to 109th FS, 133D FIG, Minnesota ANG, Wold-Chamberlain Field (later Minneapolis-Saint. Paul Metropolitan Airport), MN.

    By August 1956

    Written off.
    Although the 109th ended F-51 ops in 1954, this Mustang was withdrawn from use sometime before August 1956 after it was damaged in a crash at Holman Field in St. Paul, MN.

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force Loan Program, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.
