    Notes: 1971 photo at Winnipeg - RCMP Twin Otter 300 on a frigid looking shortest day of the year. You can see how low the sun is and this would have been taken on my noon lunch break.

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was damaged but was repairable. The ferrying/positioning flight departed Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station-Jack F. Paulus Skiway (NZSP), Antarctica and was destined for Rothera Point Airport (AAXX), Antarctica. The accident occurred at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station (Antarctica) while taking off. Narrative: The DHC-6 Twin Otter, C-GCKB, was operating on a VFR flight from Skiway 20, Antarctica to Union Glacier, Antarctica. On departure, a left hand ski front harness attachment bolt sheared...
