    Circa November 1954

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Aircraft Establishment with s/n XJ314.

    Circa June 1956

    Transferred to RAE Farnborough.

    Base of operations changed.

    16 September 1957

    Written off.
    Written off when the artificial stability control ran away while the aircraft was in a hover with the nose pitched up, the aircraft struck the ground inverted but the pilot escaped safely. Rebuilt for display at the Science Museum, South Kensington, London.
