    Constructed as a Sea Fury FB.10.

    21 November 1949

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Al Quwwa al Jawwiya al Iraqiya with s/n 253.
    Delivered as one of an order for 55 aircraft.

    From Circa 1970 to Circa 1979

    Withdrawn from use.
    The remaining 24 Furys were sold to several warbird collectors, together with all spares. The whole lot is shipped to Florida.

    Certificate of airworthiness for N40SF (SEA FURY TMK 20, 37703) issued.

    1979

    To Ed Jurist and David C. Tallichet, Orlando, FL with c/r N40SF.
    Recovered from Iraq.- Stored dismantled in Orlando, FL.

    From 1979 to 1982

    To Ed Jurist/Vintage Aircraft International, Nyack, NY.

    Civil registration, N40SF, cancelled.

    From 1982 to 1984

    To Guido Zuccoli, Australia.
    One of four Furys acquired by Mr. Zuccoli.

    From 25 January 1984 to 1988

    To Ted Allen, Australia with c/r VH-HFA.
    Operated with markings: 253 / K
    He restored the aircraft and painted it in Royal Australian Navy colors, including black-and-white invasion stripes as sported by Sea Furies flying off HMAS Sydney in the Korean War.

    8 June 1984

    Major inspection by Darwin General Aviation Pty., Ltd, in Winnellie, NT, Australia.

    Transported by ship.
    Aircraft was disassembled in Darwin and shipped to Long Beach, CA.

    To John MacGuire with c/r N57JB.

    25 April 1989

    Certificate of airworthiness for NX57JB (MK 10 SEA FURY, WJ231) issued.

    Placed on display with War Eagles Air Museum, Santa Teresa Airport/Dona Ana County Airport, El Paso, NM.

    1989

    Ferry flight.
    Flown by John Mazzala of Chino to Santa Teresa Airport, NM. After a flyover for air-to-air photographs, N57JB landed and joined the Museums warbird lineup. The aircraft never flew again, altough it is still listed as airworthy.
