    9 February 1967

    Transferred to Republic Aviation, AFLC, Eglin AFB, FL.
    Assigned to Air Force Logistics Command for test and test support.

    By April 1969

    Redesignated as F-105D-5-RE.

    7 April 1969

    Transferred to 23rd TFW, McConnell AFB, KS.

    13 July 1971

    Transferred to 121st TFS, 113th TFG, Washington D. C. ANG, Andrews AFB, MD.
    Operated with markings: District of Columbia

    28 August 1981

    Last flight.
    Flown to Dyess AFB on this date. When retired, this jet had only 2,800 hours on the airframe, making it one of the lowest-time surviving F-105s.

    Given the marking scheme of F-105D 60-0517 which was flown by then Lt. Col. John C. Wright who flew 140 combat missions in the THUD in SEA and one of the aircrafts original sponsors at the Dyess museum. Col. Wright passed away in 2016.
