    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Fernandina Beach Munic Airport (55J) Fernandina Bch, FL, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. Tail wheel strut was found to be over serviced causing it to be extended higher than normal. This would cause the aircraft to be harder to steer. On landing in a cross wind the pilot experienced vibration of the tail wheel followed by failure due to torsional overstress of the tail wheel bellcrank...

Raced in Heat 1C. Finished in 3rd place with an average speed of 190.599 mph. Raced in Heat 2D. Finished in 3rd place with an average speed of 190.523 mph. Raced in the Medallion 2 race. Finished in 4th place with an average speed of 187.568 mph.

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Hampton Roads Executive Airport (PVG) Chesapeake, VA, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. According to the pilot of the tailwheel-equipped airplane, the airplane approached runway 10 in a aCusignificant right crosswind, aC which diminished when the airplane touched down. The airplane touched down first on the right main wheel and the tailwheel about 70 knots airspeed. When the left main wheel touched down, the airplane veered to the right...
