    Constructed as a Dove 1.
    Built at Hatfield by De Havilland Aircraft Co Ltd.

    January 1948

    Assembled at DH Aircraft Co of NZs hangar at Rongotai Airport, Wellington.

    6 February 1948

    To de Havilland Aircraft Co (New Zealand) Ltd, Wellington NZ with new c/r ZK-AQV.
    Used as a demonstrator to local airlines.

    15 June 1948

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal New Zealand Air Force with s/n NZ1801 as a Devon C.1.

    June 1963

    Retired by RNZAF, placed in long-term storage at RNZAF Woodbourne.

    22 March 1971

    To Peter Hookway, Melbourne, Victoria with new c/r VH-MGT.

    1 June 1971

    To Australian Helicopters Pty Ltd, Parafield Airport, Adelaide SA keeping c/r VH-MGT.

    5 January 1973

    To Airfast Helicopter Utilities Pty Ltd, Sydney Airport keeping c/r VH-MGT.

    Notes: When the RNZAF retired its fleet of DH.104 Devons and placed them up for disposal in 1970, this particular aircraft was an attractive buy for an Australian customer. Australian Certification problems of ex military aircraft could be avoided because it had been built as a civil Dove 1 ZK-AQV and following a NZ sales tour, joined the RNZAF as their first Devon NZ1801.It was acquired by Australian Helicopters of Adelaide and ferried from NZ in April 1971, to become VH-MGT.Seen at Bankstown in November 1973, in the markings of associate company Personnel Air Transport

    Operated by Coveair, Adelaide Airport.

    22 April 1976

    10 September 1976

    Civil registration, VH-MGT, cancelled.

    From October 1976 to 1980

    Withdrawn from use.
    Stored at Jandakot Airport, Perth.

    VH-MGT noted at Colin Jones home at Spencer Street, McDonald Park SA. Painted black with red sharks teeth on nose, mounted on three poles.

    Stored at Wooma Road, Penfield, Adelaide.
