On the 30th anniversary of Charles Lindberghs trans-Atlantic flight, this F-100F flew the same route in an astonishing 6 hours and 33 minutes. Lindbergh flew the route in 33.5 hours. The pilot of this flight was USAF Major John Robinson Risner. Major Risner would later be shot down in Vietnam and would be one of the highest ranking POWs of the war. |
