    Constructed as a Lincoln II.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n RF342.

    Used for trials.

    Modified by Airwork Ltd, Langley. Who fit a 12 foot random to carry the prototype Telecommunication Research Establishment ground reading radar being developed for the British V bombers.

    Fitted with the cockpit section of Lancaster TW911.

    To Napier Icing Research with new c/r G-29-1.

    The combination of the cockpit of Lancaster TW911 and the airframe of Lincoln RF342 served for a number of years with Napier 9 jet engines and was used for icing research.

    Ferry flight.
    Made the last ever Lincoln flight into Southend.

    Notes: Shows the many wing-shapes relating to aircraft which this airframe was used for de-icing research.Although the Lincoln was somewhat similar to the Avro Lancaster, to the best of my knowledge was never used in any theatre of war, unlike some others. Was used by Napier De-Icing Research between 1948 and 1962.

    Notes: RF342/G-28-1/G-APRJAVRO LINCOLN 694 SERIES B.2. Operated by D.Napier as a de-icing research aircraft until 30-10-1962 when withdrawn from use.28-04-1967 was re-registered as G-APRJ for a Permit to Fly to Southend Airport, where on18-10-1970 we eventually moved her to a semi-permanent location within the new Historic Aircraft Museum-Southend.In 1983, was sold-off by auction and resided in parts with Aces High at North Weald Aerodrome for several years.30-05-1984 was permanently de-registered and photographed - Melbourne - Moorabbin, Australia in 2014 as the fusalage only.

    Transported by ground.
    The fuselage was moved to North Coates and stored dismantled missing the nose section, engines and undercarriage.

    To David Copley, Sandtoft, Doncaster with new c/r G-APRJ.

    2 October 2000

    To David Copley, The Grange, Goxhill, Barrow-Upon-Humber keeping c/r G-APRJ.

    From 2001 to 2004

    The dismantled airframe less engines, cockpit section and undercarriage stored Sandtoft.

    The sandoft parts were moved to storage yard near the airfield.

    Transported by ground. Delivered to Wizzard Investments/Weald for Flying A Services.
    The cockpit section was trucked from North Weald to Greenham Commo.

    22 February 2005

    Civil registration, G-APRJ, cancelled.

    2006

    To Mark Pilkington, Melbourne, VIC.

    Obtained for a planned restoration in Australia using a Lancaster fuselage from KB994.

    2007

    Transported by ship.
    The first four containers of wing sections and parts arrived at Melbourne-Moorabbin.

    By 2007

    Transported by ship.
    More parts followed to Melbourne-Moorabbin.

    On behalf of the owner stored with/at Australian National Aviation Museum, Moorabbin.
    The components were stored with the museum.
