    Possibly used as an instructional airframe, as the 120th TFS never flew F-100As.

    Markings Applied: 41897
    Displayed as F-100C Super Sabre #54-1897. On 27 March 1969, while on a strafing pass in the vicinity of Song Be Mountain, 1897 was on its second strafing pass when it washit by enemy ground fire, causing a premature napalm bomb explosion. The pilot, Major Clyde Seiler, was killed.
