    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 45-49229.

    Transferred to Virginia ANG, Byrd Field/RIC.
    The Virginia Air National Guard was equipped with P-47D aircraft from 1947 to 1951.

    Markings Applied: VA NG, NG 549229
    Early Virginia Air National Guard markings with the 149th Fighter Squadron (no national insignia) at Byrd Field/RIC.
