    Deployed to George AFB, CA, for air-to-air gunnery training for RTU Class 67DR.

    From 16 April 1968 to 9 May 1968

    Deployed to George AFB, CA, for air-to-air gunnery training for RTU Class 68IR.

    20 October 1968

    Transferred to 388th TFW, Korat RTAFB, Thailand.

    10 November 1968

    Transferred to 18th TFW, Kadena AB, Okinawa.

    3 November 1970

    Transferred to 23rd TFW, McConnell AFB, KS.

    Transferred to 149th TFS, 192nd TFG, Virginia ANG, Byrd Field, VA.

    This was the 192nd TFG C/O Jet.

    Notes: Virginia Air National Guard F-105D 61-0050 - named The Boss, later became Gate Guard.Cessna 172C N8249X is private aircraft that I flew out of the VA-ANG for about 20 years

    After February 1976

    Permanently withdrawn from use.
    This F-105D was retired early when it was revealed that it had a tendency to roll at speeds above 500 knots. The problem was traced to a depot wing change that resulted in wings with slight aeronautical differences from two different manufacturers.

    Notes: This F-105 is displayed in a paint scheme that was never used by the Virginia Air National Guard Unit.Although the markings and nose art are correct,the paint scheme is not.All the F-105s that flew with the VANG were all painted in the Vietnam Era camouflage genarally associated with the F-105.
