    Constructed as an A-6E.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 162212.

    From 1991 to 1995

    Transferred to Attack Squadron 115 (VA-115), NAS Yokosuka (NAF Atsugi (and) NAF Misawa), Japan.
    Operated with markings: NF-516
    VA-115, along with CVW-5 and Midway (CVA 41), were part of a program to permanently assign a carrier and air wing to an overseas home port. MidwayaCOs new home port was Naval Station Yokosuka, Japan, and the squadron would normally operate out of NAF Atsugi or Misawa when the carrier was in NS Yokosuka.

    1995

    Assigned to NAS Norfolk, VA for storage.

    From 1995 to After December 1996

    Transferred to NAS Norfolk, VA.
    Training hulk, used for heavy lift crane training.

    By March 2004

    To National Naval Aviation Museum, NAS Pensacola, Pensacola, FL.
    Only the cockpit survives here.
