    Notes: 1973 photo at Winnipeg - This Lockheed 18 Lodestar was built as a C-60 for the USAF in 1943. Civilianized after WW-II, like many it was converted to the Howard 250 standard, with long nose and panoramic windows being the most obvious features. It was wrecked in 1977 after a take-off was attempted with ice on the wings

Incident occurred at the Truckee-tahoe Airport, Truckee, CA. The flight departed from Truckee, CA, with the destination Unknown/not Reported. Stalled or mushed during the initial climb. A fire broke out after impact. Report remarks include: 12IN spanwise ice strip on upper wing surface.
