    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 43-16008.
    The delivery date is provided.

    Transferred to Alaska Wing, Air Transport Administration, Gore Air Base, Great Falls, MT.

    30 June 1946

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Army Air Force.
    Declared surplus of the USAAFs requirements.

    24 July 1946

    Sold as surplus by the War Assets Administration from Bush Field Airport in Augusta, Georgia.

    To Kansas City Southern Skyways with c/r NC15836.

    13 July 1949

    To The Babb Co. Inc.

    14 July 1949

    To Babb Co Inc, Glendale, CA with c/r N15836 (DC3C-S4C4G, 20474).

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 49-2622.

    Contracted to Aviation Maintenance Corporation in Van Nuys, CA for work on the airframe.
    Sent for maintenance.

    29 July 1949

    Civil registration, N15836, cancelled.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Hellenic Land Army with s/n 49-2622.
    Assigned to the Greece Air Force while undergoing a technical inspection, acquires the new serial number 49-2622 and is licensed in Greece.

    7 October 1949

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 49-2622.

    17 October 1949

    Transferred to 355 Transport Squadron, 112 Combat Wing, Elefsina.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Hellenic Air Force with s/n 49-2622.

    From 26 August 1951 to 10 September 1951

    Ferry flight.
    Commander Speragon Georgios Lambropoulos, co-pilot of Lieutenant Krikigiannis S., engineer, Sub-Nirhakos G., Air Guard Chief of Staff Tsagarakis I., Air Force Lieutenant Liapis B. and Associate of USAF Deputy Secretary Kassoun, took off in formation with the C-47B KJ989 to the Ashyia airport in Japan, where they arrive after 16 days.

    Transferred to 13th EBA.

    17 September 1951

    Crashed.
    After only one week with the 13th, during a take off from the advanced landing field K-53 on the island of Pae Gogo with the pilot Yosmandagou Tsoulia I and co-pilot Lieutenant Maglinis K, the right wheel sank in the clay surface of the beach and crashed in the surf. There were no injuries to the passengers or crew.

    Recovered.
    Thanks to the American 606th ACWS (Air Control and Warning Squadron), three trucks and chains were used to moved the two and a half tons back onto land.

    Repaired.
    Repaired on site by Greek engineers from the 13th Flock. and then taken over by a crew of the Douglas manufacturer and transported it to the Clark Air Base in the Philippines where it underwent extensive repairs.

    15 April 1952

    Transferred to 13th EBA.
    Operated with markings: Poseidon, E, 9
    After repairs it was retrieved by a Greek crew (Captain Lampropoulos G., Supporting Tsolakis A.) and reintroduced to the 13th Flock.

    26 December 1952

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was written off. There were 14 fatalities. The military flight departed Jinhae (K-10) Air Base, South Korea. The accident occurred at 4,5 km (2. 8 mls) from Jinhae (K-10) Air Base (South Korea) while in the initial climb. Narrative: Failed to gain height after takeoff and crashed.

    Transferred to 355 Transport sqadron,.

    23 May 1955

    To 112 Combat Wing.

    Transferred to SEEDS, 356 Transport Squadron.

    July 1960

    Along with C-47A 49-2637, sent to the Congo to help save the Greek element there.

    From Circa 1975 to Circa 1979

    Transferred to 355/1 STM.

    22 January 2003

    Transferred to 355/1 STM, Mikra Airport.
    Used for photographic missions.

    31 August 2004

    Landed at Tanagra for an IRAN inspection.

    13 September 2005

    First flight.
    Following the IRAN was flown on a test flight at Tanagra.

    From 16 September 2005 to 18 September 2005

    Placed on static display at the Air Show of Archangelos at 114 Combat Wing.

    Transferred to 355/1 STM, 113 Combat Wing.
    Returned to service.

    56 years after the departure of the 13th Fleet for Japan (50), POSEIDON performed a unique Historical Flight with the President of the American Kyushu Gypsy Squadron Association, Joseph G. Smith and the Greek Veterans of Korea Brigadier Argyrio Devestikoti and Shinarcho and Konstantinos Goulas.

    Transferred to 383 Squadron, Special Operations.

    22 February 2011

    To Hellininki Aeroporia Mousion, Tatoi, Attiki.
    On, by decision of the Supreme Air Council, it transferred to category E1 (ie permanently out of energy) and was assigned to be transferred as a static exhibit to our Air Force Museum in Tatoi.
