    December 1980

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 161159.

    From By October 1983 to After June 1986

    Transferred to Fighter Squadron 32 (VF-32), NAS Oceana, VA.
    Operated with markings: AE-212

    From 25 October 1983 to 29 October 1983

    Participated in Operation Urgent Fury invasion of Grenada.

    After June 1986

    Transferred to Fighter Squadron 103 (VF-103), NAS Oceana, VA.
    Operated with markings: AA-211

    September 1991

    Converted to a F-14D(R).
    New construction number, DR-1, assigned to the airframe.
    TARPS capable.

    By April 1995

    Transferred to Fighter Squadron 32 (VF-32), NAS Oceana, VA.
    Operated with markings: AC-212

    By June 1997

    Transferred to Fighter Squadron 31 (VF-31), NAS Cecil Field, FL.
    Operated with markings: AJ-204

    After June 1997

    Transferred to Fighter Squadron 213 (VF-213), NAS Oceana, VA.
    Operated with markings: AJ-204

    Circa 2002

    The aircraft flew its first combat missions over Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, logging missions from the deck of the carrier Carl Vinson (CVN-70). (NNAM).

    This aircraft was the last Tomcat ever recovered from a combat mission on February 8th, 2006 aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt in the northern Arabian Gulf.

    Flew a total of 224 combat sorties during its career.
