    Notes: Once Malcom Forbes private mount, this Convairliner was part of the Mid Atlantic Air Museum Collection. It was sold to a Canadian outfit, in whose hands the aircraft crashed.

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was destroyed. There was one fatality. It was a local training flight from La Ronge Airport, SK (YVC/CYVC), Canada. The accident occurred at 1,5 km (0. 9 mls) NW of La Ronge Airport, SK (YVC) (Canada) while en route. Narrative: The accident aircraft, a Convair 580A, was one of two aircraft that had recently been delivered to the Government of Saskatchewans Northern Air Operations. CV-580As had been converted to aerial tankers (water bombers) for fighting forest fires. The accident flight was a training flight that consisted of stop-and-go circuits at the La Ronge Airport (YVC)...
