    Constructed as a Wessex HAS.31 by Westland at Yeovil, Somerset.

    31 August 1962

    First flight.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Australian Navy with s/n WA202.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Australian Navy with s/n N7-202.

    December 1974

    Was part of the Naval Task Force that was sent to Darwin for relief operations after cyclone Tracy devastated Darwin on Chrismas day 1974.

    8 August 1989

    Crashed.
    Ditched, due to ground resonance on take-off from HMAS Success during excercise Kangaroo 89. Crew rescued, helicopter recovered.

    November 1989

    Restoration started.
    Restoration to static display.

    Restoration completed.
    Markings Applied: HMAS Success, 812, N7-202

    February 1990

    To Australian Aviation Heritage Centre, Winnellie, Darwin, Northern Territory.
    Presented to the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre. It was the first major exhibit in the museum.
