    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 57-5776.

    To 335th TFS, 4th TFW, Eglin AFB, FL.

    March 1959

    Damaged.
    From F-105 Thunderchiefs by W.Howard Plunkett: During a transition flight by 4th TFW commander, Col. O Keefe, the right main landing gear extended in flight after takeoff at an estimated speed of 350 knots. Damage to the aircraft was minor. Since this was the first aircraft to successfully land after the inadvertent gear extension, Republic Aviation Corp. engineers and the USAF were afforded the opportunity to find the cause and obtain a fix for the issue. All F-105s were immedietly restricted to 350 KIAS until completion of an inspection of the gear. All 4th TFW F-105s were inspected by 31 March 1959.

    Transferred to 336th TFS, 4th TFW, Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC.

    From 29 October 1964 to April 1981

    Transferred to 141st TFS, 108th TFG, New Jersey ANG, McGuire AFB, NJ.
    Operated with markings: NJ
    Frank Annaloro comments (24 November 2016): This aircraft served with the 108th Tactical Fighter Wing in the 1970s. Crew Chief - Msgt Fred Dieter asst Crew Chief Sgt Frank Annaloro 1970 - 1976.

    12 July 1980

    Flown by the 141st TFS from the New Jersey ANG during the F-105 retirement ceremony at George AFB, CA.

    After April 1981

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force Loan Program, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.
