    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army with s/n 55-4612.

    New construction number, 1651, assigned to the airframe.
    The army assigned their own contruction numbers to DHC-2 airframes.

    Redesignated as U-6A.

    24 February 1967

    First flight.

    10 March 1967

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Army Air Corps with s/n XV272.

    To unknown owner with c/r N36841.

    Circa 1980

    Transferred to Beaver Training Flight, Middle Wallop.
    Support aircraft for Operation Drake.

    Markings Applied: Operation Drake
    Operation Drake (1978 - 1980) was a round-the-world voyage with the participation of young people from many countries. The voyage was centred on the brigantine Eye of the Wind. She left Plymouth in October 1978 and returned to London two years later, in December 1980.

    Transferred to AAC Aldergrove, Northern Ireland.

    1 February 1983

    Crashed.
    Crashed at Popham, Hampshire on 1st February 1983 whilst carrying out a rough field landing. The student selected full flap instead of landing flap during a rough field landing at Popham, Hampshire. The aircraft struck the ground heavily and broke off the undercarriage. The two crew escaped safely. Allocated to Middle Wallop AETW.

    1 June 1990

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at airport NONE near Broad Pass, AK, United States while cruising. The damage was substantial. The pilot reported that during flight, he encountered deteriorating weather conditions. To avoid clouds in a pass, he elected to reverse course. However, the aircraft was too close to rising terrain would not out climb the terrain gradient. Subsequently, it crashed in a wooded area.
