    First flight.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 61-7976.

    1967

    Transferred to 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing, Beale AFB, CA.

    21 March 1968

    Performed the first operational sortie by an SR-71A; Ed Payne and Jerry OMalley flew her over Viet Nam.

    Flew more sorties (942) than any other SR-71, including 257 operational missions from; Beale AFB CA, Palmdale CA, Kadena AB Okinawa and RAF Mildenhall UK.
