    Constructed as a J2F-4.

    December 1939

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 1649.

    By December 1941

    Transferred to Unknown Utility Squadron (VJ-), Ford Island Seaplane Base, NAS Pearl Harbor.
    Operated with markings: I-J-18
    Flew search and rescue operations following the attack by the Japanese.

    From 1941 to 1945

    Served on active duty throughout WWII.

    1947

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Navy.

    1947

    Transferred to War Assets Administration.

    1947

    To Jack Hardwick with new c/r N63850.

    To William Patterson keeping c/r N63850.
    Operated in the Bahamas transporting fish and seafood.

    1955

    Crashed.
    Crashed landing at Lake Killarney, Nassau, Bahamas; sank and abandoned.

    1991

    Recovered.
    Salvaged by William Floten and Kevin Hooey. Shipped it to Miami for storage while searching for more components to mount a rebuild effort.

    1997

    To Dave Arnold keeping c/r N63850.
    Moved the plane to Wichita for restoration.

    August 1997

    To Flying A Services, UK keeping c/r N63850.
    Was never shipped there before being sold.

    21 October 1998

    To Chuck Greenhill/Amphib Inc, Lake Zurich, IL keeping c/r N63850.

    From 1998 to 2005

    Restored.
    Markings Applied: I-J-18, U.S. NAVY, 1649,
    Restored by Wichita Air Services Inc. (Warbird Division), Wichita, KS; used parts from another J2F. Restored in orginal markings.

    Based at Chuck Greenhill Private Collection, Kenosha Regional Airport, Milwaukee, WI.
