    Displayed on a pole in Marines markings.

    To Arthur W. McDonnell, Mojave, CA.

    From By 1978 to By 1980

    Restored.
    A static restoration was completed at Mojave, CA, for the USMC Museum. 97142 was restored at the same time and location and it is reported the manufacturer data plates were inadvertantly swapped between the two airframes.

    Markings Applied: MARINES, 97142
    Displayed as as a Marines Corsair. The markings indicate the accidental data plante swap likely was not detected at this time.
