    Constructed as a P-40N-40-CU by Curtiss at Buffalo, NY.

    Circa 1943

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 43-23494 as a Kittyhawk IV.

    1944

    Transferred to No. 132 (F) Squadron, Western Air Command.

    From 1944 to 1945

    Transferred to Fighter Affiliation Flight, No. 5 Operational Training Unit.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Canadian Air Force with s/n 877.

    12 August 1947

    To Universal Aircraft/J. P Swann with new c/r NL1009N {1}.

    24 February 1951

    To E. L. Gerry of Dracut, MA with new c/r N1009N {1}.

    Passed through the hands of several owners.

    1958

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.

    Circa 1965

    Used for spare parts by the museum and scrapped.

    The paperwork may have been acquired by a new owner. In any event the ID was adopted by a Kittyhawk Mk III, s/n 840 RCAF, c/n 27490, c/r N1009N.
