    Constructed as a YF-16A.
    The nose carries flags of the different countries involved with the F-16 program.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 75-0745.

    December 1976

    Transferred to 6516th Test Squadron, 6510th Test Wing, Edwards AFB, CA.

    29 May 1981

    First flight.
    Modified as F-16/101 with a General Electric F101 engine and first flight with this engine was on May 29th, 1981. This engine later led to the GE F110 engine installed from block 30 onwards.

    February 1982

    Transferred to Gentile Air Station, OH.
    Modified to be semi trailer transportable and traveled the country as a recruiting aid.

    By June 1992

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.

    Markings Applied: SOUTH CAROLINA, AF79317
    Marked and painted as South Carolina ANG, 157th TFS, 79-0317.

    Anti-spin parachute support mounts were still on the aircraft. The USAF museum exchanged this aircraft for an F-16 that actually flew in the war as the museum prefers war veterans then early development aircraft. (F16.net).

    Modified in Boyd, Texas in a little machine shop by F-16 crew chief instructors out of Sheppard AFB, Texas.
