    To AESS Gosport.

    From 23 August 1966 to 25 October 1966

    To Westland Aircraft Ltd, Yeovil with new c/r G-ATYU.
    A single SH-3D prototype was ordered from Sikorsky. This arrived in October 1966 and was flown to Yeovil from Bristol Docks by Westland Chief Test Pilot Slim Sear carrying the c/r G-ATYU under the designation S61D-2. After some brief datum flying at Yeovil, it was laid up for conversion as the first development Sea King.

    21 October 1966

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Ministry of Defence with s/n XV370.
    With Westland Aircraft Ltd, Yeovil.

    16 June 1967

    Civil registration, N59225, cancelled.

    By 1982

    Transferred to Empire Test Pilots School, RAE Boscombe Down.
