    Constructed as a P-38J-15-LO by Lockheed at Burbank, California, USA.

    Circa 1944

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-104088.

    From 19 April 1944 to 25 June 1944

    Transferred to 370th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force, RAF Andover.

    1 August 1944

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Army Air Force.
    Aircraft consigned to salvage in France due to battle damage.

    It is not known how or when this aircraft was transported back to the USA.

    Surplus aircraft dealer.

    To Inter-State Aircraft Corporation, Kansas City, MO.

    To Clarence Page/Page Automotive, Yukon, OK with new c/r N5260N (P-38J, 43-21917).
    Registration NTU. When the airframe was registered N5260N the USAAF s/n 43-21917 was quoted. This serial was originally assigned to an A-20G.

    Aircraft was stored in Yukon, not flown.

    Civil registration, N5260N, cancelled.

    Aircraft remained stored in Yukon, OK.

    Moved to Lafayette, LA for further restoration.

    Stored as a stripped hulk.

    To Confederate Air Force.
    Remained in storage at Yukon, OK.

    Transported by air.
    Airlifted by helicopter from Yukon, OK to England AFB, LA.

    Moved to San Marcos, TX for completing restoration.

    Restoration completed.
    Markings Applied: Scatterbrain Kid II
    Restored with Hycon survey nose.

    28 May 1994

    Crashed.
    There was one minor injury. The accident occurred at Breckenridge, TX, United States while taking off. The damage was substantial. During takeoff initial climb, the airplane experienced a loss of engine power on both engines due to fuel starvation. During the landing, the airplane struck numerous trees. Examination of the aircraft revealed that only the left propeller switch was in the feather position and the fuel selector valve was in the drop tank position...
