    Notes: This disposals USAF C-118A at Tucson, Arizona in October 1977 had been flown across from nearby Davis-Monthan AFB, military markings daubed over and registration N2878F spray painted by hand. It was waiting overhaul for civil CofA

    To Northern Pacific Transport Inc, Anchorage, AK keeping c/r N2878F.

    7 July 1985

    Crashed.
    There were three minor injuries. The accident occurred at Egegik, AK, United States while taking off. The airframe was destroyed. Airplane accelerated to v 1 and struck through on sandy beach. The nose pitched up and the pilot lost directional control. The airplane struck adjacent bank caught fire. It was totally destroyed.

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was a loss. There were 22,655 hours on the airframe at the time. The flight departed Egegik Airport, AK (EGX/PAII), United States of America and was destined for Kodiak Airport, AK (ADQ/PADQ), United States of America. The accident occurred at Egegik Airport, AK (EGX) (United States of America) while taking off. Narrative: Swerved off the runway after striking a bump near V1 speed. The aircraft collided with an embankment and caught fire.
