    Constructed as a C-47A-25-DK by Douglas at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.

    29 May 1944

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-93518.

    19 June 1944

    Transferred to U. S. 9th Air Force, European Theater.

    2 September 1945

    Returned to USA.

    31 October 1945

    Transferred to Reconstruction Finance Corporation.

    August 1946

    Leased to Pioneer Air Lines Inc, Dallas, TX.
    Markings changed to: Sam Houston

    20 August 1946

    To Pioneer Air Lines Inc, Dallas, TX with new c/r N54729 (DC3C, 13439).
    Aircraft was registered but was still under lease from the USAF.

    1 March 1952

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 42-93518 as a C-117C.
    The airline had the plane reconfigured with airline interior and when it was returned from leasing, because of the airline interior it was given the C-117 designation, which at the time applied to VIP C-47 type transports.

    At least one source indicates this airframe once was assigned the c/r CF-MCC. It is thought this is not the case.

    Civil registration, N54729, cancelled.

    Certificate of airworthiness for NX11ND (DC3C, 13439) issued.
