    Notes: Douglas C-47B-15-DK - Central Mountain Air at Smitters/BC (YYD) in July 1989 - c/n 26.643 - built in 1943. The plane was damaged beyond repair in an accident at Thutade Lake, BC, Canada (6 fatalities)

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was written off. There were six fatalities. The passenger flight departed Sturdee Airport, BC (YTC), Canada and was destined for Smithers Airport, BC (YYD/CYYD), Canada. The accident occurred at Thutade Lake, BC (Canada) while en route. Narrative: Crashed on the frozen surface of a lake, 3680 feet asl. The flight was flown VFR in daylight with sudden heavy snow squalls.
