    Summary: The damage to the airframe was substantial. There were 50,837 hours on the airframe at the time. The domestic scheduled passenger flight departed Carlsbad Airport, NM (CNM/KCNM), United States of America and was destined for Hobbs-Lea County Airport, NM (HOB/KHOB), United States of America. The accident occurred at Hobbs, NM (United States of America) while on approach. The airframe was repaired. Narrative: The DC-3 left Carlsbad for Hobbs at 1217 hours on a VFR flight plan. At 1237 the flight asked Lea County Airport if there was any local traffic and was advised that none was visible from the terminal...
