    1933

    Constructed as a 231.
American Eagle went out of business and was purchased by Texas Eaglecraft in 1933, who built this airplane from leftover parts but used a French Salmson 9-cylinder, 40 hp radial engine. The Salmson was a good engine but too expensive and later aircraft had the 37 hp A-40 Continental engine. Restoration is per original except that a tail wheel was added.
