    Constructed as a P-38F-5-LO by Lockheed at Burbank, California, USA.

    Circa 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-12652.

    1944

    Involved in an incident.
    Suffered nose wheel collapse at Finschafen Airfield.

    6 June 1944

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Army Air Force.

    Circa 1946

    After being written off, this aircraft was stripped for usable parts and abandoned. At the end of the war, the wreckage was buried into a pit at Finschafen Airfield.

    24 January 1970

    Certificate of airworthiness for NX12652 (P38F-5, 42-12652) issued.

    1999

    Recovered.
    Restoration project from Papua New Guinea salvage. Initially recovered to Melbourne, Australia.

    Circa 2003

    Moved to Westpac Restorations, Colorado Springs USA.

    10 November 2015

    Certificate of airworthiness for NX12652 (P38F-5, 42-12652) issued.

    10 November 2015

    To Westpac Restorations Inc, Colorado Springs, CO with new c/r N12652.

    Based at Westpac Restorations, Peterson Field, Colorado Springs, CO.
